Reminder to City of Flint Voters

The Flint City Clerk’s Office is glad to serve the Flint community through this COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that your right to vote is able to be exercised.  The following information is again being made available as a reminder to the public to keep you informed of your voting rights.

• Although City Hall has been closed since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will remain closed for an indefinite future, the City Clerk’s Office was reopened and will remain open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through August 4, 2020. In addition, the office will be open on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to receive absentee ballots over the counter.
• Registered voters have the right to apply for, receive, and submit an absentee ballot in person at the City Clerk’s Office until Monday, August 3, at 4pm, the day before the election.
• Friday, July 31, at 5 p.m. is the deadline for the City Clerk’s Office to receive by mail absentee ballot requests from registered voters in the City of Flint for the State Primary Election to be held on Aug. 4.
• Voters have the right to register for an election and immediately obtain an absentee voter ballot during the 14 days leading up to an election and on Election Day.
• Voters who register to vote, or update their address on Election Day, may vote by absentee in the Clerk’s Office.

Individuals entering a polling place for purposes of voting in an election are not required to wear a face mask, per Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Executive Order 2020-153, issued on Friday, July 17, 2020.
