Mayor Sheldon Neeley invites families to trick-or-treat events around Flint

Flint City Hall to host trick-or-treat event, Flint PAL and Financial Plus Credit Union to host trunk-or-treat events

FLINT, Mich. –  Mayor Sheldon Neeley is inviting families to join him at three family-friendly events leading up to Halloween. The events will take place at Financial Plus Credit Union, Haskell Community Center, and Flint City Hall.

Financial Plus Credit Union will host Trunk-or-Treat Kids Day at its 3381 Van Slyke Rd location in Flint on Thursday, October 24 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Mayor Neeley encourages parents to open a Kids Club savings account for their children to promote early financial literacy. Parents must bring a form of government-issued identification and their child’s social security card to get started.

Signing up for a Kids Club savings account gets kids  up to age 17 a trip inside the money machine. Kids Club savings accounts include a free $10 deposit from Financial Plus and a trip to the ‘treasure chest’ with each branch visit. For more information, parents can call 800-748-0451.

The Flint Police Activities League (PAL) will host its Trunk-or-Treat event at Haskell Community Center at 2201 Forest Hill Ave. on Saturday, October 26 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Mayor Neeley, PAL, and their community partners invite Flint families to come enjoy trunk-or-treat candy, games, music, costumes, and face painting. For more information or questions about PAL or this event, residents can contact Officer Spann from PAL at 810-610-3829.

On Halloween, Thursday, October 31, Flint City Hall will host its own trick or treat event from 4:30-6:00 p.m. Mayor Neeley and City of Flint staff invite kids and parents to come trick or treating and see the decorations in the lobby of City Hall. All of these events are free and provide a fun and safe way for kids and families to enjoy Halloween.
