Flint Mayor Dayne Walling Issues Proclamation Honoring Incoming University of Michigan – Flint Chancellor Dr. Susan Borrego

In honor of the inauguration of the University of Michigan – Flint’s new chancellor, Mayor Dayne Walling today issued a proclamation making Friday, April 17, 2015 Dr. Susan Borrego Day. The proclamation was presented to Dr. Borrego by Mayor Walling during a ceremony at the Flint Farmer’s Market on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Tuesday was designated UM-Flint Day at the Flint Farmer’s Market with activities taking place between 11:30am-1:00pm.

Dr. Borrego will be the seventh chancellor to head the University of Michigan – Flint during its almost 60 years of existence. “The contribution to the community made by U of M-Flint has been of tremendous benefit to our city and the region,” said Mayor Walling. “We warmly welcome Dr. Borrego to our community and I know from her initial actions that she will be a strong partner in improving the lives of our citizens through continued educational opportunities and public engagement.”
