The City of Flint has welcomed Jody Lundquist to the administrative team as Chief Financial Officer. Lundquist was appointed by City Administrator Natasha Henderson and started her employment today.
Lundquist comes to Flint from the City of Benton Harbor, Michigan where she worked as Finance Director and Treasurer. Benton Harbor shares the distinction of being a financially distressed community exiting receivership along with Flint, giving Lundquist experience in making sound financial decisions under tight budgetary constraints. While serving in Benton Harbor, Lundquist instituted a variety of internal controls, policies and procedures, and financial planning practices that did not exist before her tenure. She brings a wealth of experience and proven tactics with her that will be of great benefit to the City of Flint.
Lundquist is a graduate of Arizona State University holding a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness and a post-baccalaureate certificate of accountancy. Prior to her work in Benton Harbor, she served as the executive administrator for the C.W. & Modene Neely Charitable Foundation, an accountant and as the owner of Lundquist Enterprises, LLC, a property remediation service company.
