FLINT, Michigan—It’s time once again for City of Flint residents to bag their leaves for curbside collection.
Yard waste pickup will continue through Thanksgiving week in 2020. Yard waste is picked up weekly on normal trash collection days.
“This is a beautiful time of year, but please remember to bag all your leaves to keep our streets safe and functional,” said Mayor Sheldon Neeley, who noted leaves can plug storm drains and cause flooding.
The City of Flint began requiring residents to bag leaves about 10 years ago. Residents should NOT rake leaves into the street, which could result in a citation.
The City of Flint works in partnership with Keep Genesee County Beautiful and Republic Services on the annual BAG IT! Campaign.
If you have any questions about yard waste pickup — or if you need to report problems with any trash or yard waste pickup — please call (810) 410-1134.
After Thanksgiving week, curbside yard waste pickup will no longer be offered in the City of Flint.
When curbside pickup ends, residents can drop off yard waste, including leaves, at Country Oaks Landscape Supply, 3218 E. Atherton Road in Burton, for $5 per pickup truck. Residents should call (810) 743-1920 to confirm hours and fees.
