Annual Assessment Change Notices were mailed to all City of Flint property owners last week. The City of Flint Assessor’s Office encourages owners to review these notices carefully. Poverty/hardship exemptions, and veterans’ exemptions must be received by the Assessor by Tuesday, March 12 at 4:30 p.m. The Poverty/Hardship Exemption application is available here.
To appeal the assessed value of your property, a property owner must either meet with the Board of Review or submit a notarized letter with original signatures and all supporting documentation by March 12 at 4:30 p.m.
To ask questions or schedule an appointment to meet with the Board of Review, property owners can call the Assessor’s Office at 810-766-7255. The Board of Review will meet on the following dates and times for the purpose of hearing protests for assessed values and the review of poverty/hardship:
Monday, March 11, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Tuesday, March 12, 1-9 p.m.
Thursday, March 14, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Board of Review meetings will take place in the Flint City Council Chambers, located on the third floor of Flint City Hall, 1101 S. Saginaw St. Flint, MI 48502.
