What: Flint Water Recovery Resource Fair
When: Wednesday July 25, 2018 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Where: The Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village 4119 N. Saginaw Street Flint, MI 48505
Details: The goal of Flint’s Water Recovery Resource Fair is to provide the community information on the current recovery resources available. Organizations will be onsite that provide resources and services for Flint residents that have become a prevalent need due to the water crisis including; nutrition education, education for youth, mental health services, physical education, lead abatement programs, water resources and funding for water recovery. Vendors include; GISD, Crim Fitness Foundation, Keep Genesee County Beautiful, Valley Area Agency on Aging, GCCARD, Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Genesee Health Systems, MSU Extension, Hamilton Community Health Network, University of Michigan-Flint, Greater Flint Health Coalition, Legal Services of Eastern Michigan, Flint Genesee Chamber of Commerce, Child Care Network, AECOM- Fast Start Program, Habitat for Humanity, Mott Children’s Health Center, Genesee County Health Department, Neighborhood Engagement HUB and many others.
There will also be a grocery giveaway and the hydration station will be onsite. Residents are encouraged to bring their refillable containers so that they may fill them with Ice Mountain water from the hydration station. In addition the mental health bus will be onsite for residents who would like to access mental health services or would simply like a listening ear.
The City of Flint would like to highlight all of the partners for this event and especially the Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village for providing the location and GHS for sponsoring the grocery giveaway.
