Come see, hear, discuss and become engaged in the City’s first comprehensive planning effort in over 50 years! This kick off will give you the opportunity to meet city leaders, planning staff and the consultant team. Your vision can help transform our City!

The summer kickoff meeting takes place on Tuesday, June 19, at 5:30 PM in the DOME of Flint City Hall. Representatives from the Planning Commission, Master Plan Steering Committee, Elected Officials, City staff, and Planning Consultants will connect with residents in order to share progress and discuss
upcoming events over the summer to advance the Master Plan.

About the City of Flint Comprehensive Master Plan
The Master Plan will be guided by community vision and input, and result in a blueprint for the City over the next twenty years. The City of Flint was awarded a 1.57 million dollar Community Challenge Grant from the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This grant includes matching funds from various community stakeholders and is to be used for the creation of a Master Plan, updated Zoning Code, and Capital Improvement Plan. The last officially adopted comprehensive Master Plan for the City of Flint was
created over fifty years ago. The 1960 plan forecasted continued population growth and a robust economy. Without a Master Plan and updated Zoning Code, planning activities have been sporadic and uncoordinated
and limited resources have been poorly allocated, resulting in missed development opportunities and continued economic decline.
