Jerry Ambrose Takes Place of Darnell Earley as Emergency Manager

Flint, MI – January 14, 2014 – State Treasurer Kevin Clinton has appointed Flint Director of Finance and Administration Jerry Ambrose as Emergency Manager of Flint. Former Emergency Manager Darnell Earley has been appointed as Emergency Manager of Detroit Public Schools. Mr. Ambrose has been working in Flint as the Finance Director since December of 2011.  Mr. Ambrose’s focus will be to follow the 7 Point Transition Management Plan as laid out by Mr. Earley. That plan details the steps which need to be taken in order for the City to exit receivership and re-establish home rule order under a Receivership Transition Advisory Board. The timeline for that goal remains set for April, 2015.
